Welcome to Egg (“we”, “our”, or “us”). Egg is a warm, private, tactile personal memory & daily reflection application designed to help you capture moments, thoughts, and reflections.

We believe that your personal memories and daily reflections represent one of the most sacred digital spaces you own. Our privacy architecture is designed around a simple, non-negotiable principle: your memories belong to you, and we have zero interest in selling, monetizing, or analyzing your personal life.

This Privacy Policy explains how Egg Technologies LLC collects, stores, uses, and protects your information when you use the Egg mobile application and website (myegg.app).

1. Core Principles

• Local-First by Default: Your reflections, memories, thoughts, and photos are written and indexed directly on your local device via local database storage.
• Zero Advertising & Zero Data Mining: We do not sell your personal data, we do not show third-party ads, and we do not use your reflections or memories to train AI models or profile you.
• Encrypted Synchronization: When cloud synchronization is enabled, your data is transmitted over TLS 1.3 encrypted channels and stored in secure, access-restricted database containers encrypted at rest (AES-256).
• Complete Data Sovereignty: You can export your data anytime or permanently delete your account and all associated records directly inside the app.

2. Information We Collect

We only collect data strictly necessary to provide the personal memory, reflection, and synchronization service:

A. Information You Provide Directly

1. Account Information: When you create an optional sync account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials (via Supabase Auth).
2. Memories & Daily Reflections: The text, reflections, mood tags, and timestamps you record in the app.
3. Photographs & Media: Photos you intentionally attach to your memories. We only access your device’s photo library after you grant explicit permission, and we only read the specific images you select.
4. Location Tags (Optional): If you choose to attach a location or place name to a memory, that location metadata is stored with that specific entry. Egg never tracks your location in the background or monitors your physical movements.
5. Calendar Events (Optional Import): If you use the optional “Import Calendar” feature to turn daily events into reflection memories, Egg accesses your device calendar strictly on a read-only basis after you grant permission. We only import events you select to create memory drafts; your full calendar is never scraped, uploaded in bulk, or shared.
6. Support Inquiries: If you contact us via email, we receive your email address, device model, operating system version, and any diagnostic context you choose to share.

B. Device Permissions & System Features

• Notifications: If enabled, we schedule gentle daily reminders (e.g., at 8:00 PM) to prompt you to record your day. Reminders are managed on your device and can be toggled off at any time in Settings → Notifications.
• Photo Library: Required only when selecting photos to embed in memory reflections.
• Calendar: Required only if you voluntarily import calendar items as past memory prompts.

C. Information Collected Automatically

1. Basic App Telemetry & Diagnostics: To keep Egg fast and crash-free, we may collect aggregated, non-identifying technical data (such as app version, OS version, device architecture, and crash stack traces). We do not correlate crash logs with your private reflections or memories.
2. Subscription & Purchase Validation: In-app purchases and subscriptions are validated securely through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not store or process your credit card numbers or payment credentials.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your data solely for the following legitimate purposes:

• To display, organize, search, and store your daily timeline and calendar.
• To sync your reflections and memories seamlessly across your authorized devices.
• To authenticate your account securely.
• To diagnose technical bugs, prevent crashes, and ensure app stability.
• To respond to your customer support requests.

We will never:

• Sell, rent, lease, or broker your personal information.
• Use your private entries to train large language models (LLMs) or generative AI.
• Target you with commercial advertisements based on your reflections or memories.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We intentionally minimize third-party dependencies. We partner only with infrastructure providers that adhere to rigorous security standards (SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR compliance):

All data transmitted to or from our servers uses Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.3) encryption. Data at rest in our cloud storage is protected using AES-256 encryption.

5. Data Retention & Permanent Deletion Policy

You retain permanent ownership and control over your information:

• Active Retention: We retain your synced reflections and memories as long as your account remains active so that you can access your reflections anytime.
• In-App Immediate Deletion: You can delete individual memories, photos, or tags directly within the app at any moment. When deleted, they are immediately expunged from your device and purged from cloud replicas.
• Account Termination & Complete Wipe: You can permanently delete your account at any time via Egg Settings → Account → Delete Account.
  • To prevent accidental deletion, you must explicitly confirm by typing “delete”.
  • Confirming execution triggers an immediate cascade wipe across all Supabase database tables and cloud storage buckets.
  • All account identifiers, authentication tokens, reflection text, memories, and photos are permanently purged.
  • We do not maintain unindexed “shadow archives” or secondary backups of deleted user accounts or memories.
• Web Deletion Request: If you have uninstalled the app and wish to permanently wipe your account and all associated cloud data, email us from your registered account address at hello@myegg.app with the subject line “Account Deletion Request”, and our team will permanently execute the wipe within 48 hours.

6. Your Rights & Data Portability

Regardless of where you reside, we extend standard privacy protections to all Egg users:

• Export Your Reflections & Memories: You have the right to export a complete copy of your reflections, memories, and photos in portable, standard formats.
• Rectification & Access: You can review and edit any information stored in your account at any time.
• Revocation of Consent: You can revoke access to photo library, calendar, or notification permissions through your mobile operating system settings at any time.
• EU / UK GDPR & California CCPA Rights: If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or California, you have statutory rights to access, delete, restrict processing, or lodge complaints with relevant data protection authorities.

7. Children’s Privacy

Egg is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 in certain jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, please contact us immediately, and we will take immediate steps to delete such data.

8. Updates to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect improvements to our app or changes in legal regulations. When material changes are made, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy and provide prominent notice within the app or via email.
